As a core piece of construction machinery in the foundation engineering field, the rotary drilling rig is widely used in scenarios such as pile foundation construction, diaphragm walls, and tunnel excavation. Its industry development is deeply intertwined with infrastructure construction, policy guidance, and technological advancements. Currently, the industry is at a critical transformative stage of structural optimization and high-quality development, where policy direction, demand upgrades, and technological breakthroughs synergistically drive the reshaping of the industrial landscape, propelling the sector from scale expansion to quality and efficiency enhancement.

At the policy level, a two-way guidance approach has established a new framework for industry development. On one hand, the national "14th Five-Year Plan" and local government special bond allocations for major projects such as transportation, water conservancy, and energy have provided stable demand support for rotary drilling rigs, driving steady industry recovery. On the other hand, tightening environmental regulations alongside industrial upgrading policies—such as "Made in China 2025"—have spurred the industry's transformation toward intelligence and greenization. The upgrade of non-road mobile machinery emission standards has forced enterprises to develop low-emission, low-energy products, while CCS certification has become a mandatory market entry requirement, directly impacting product premium capabilities. Additionally, improved equipment renewal policies and remanufacturing standards have offered policy guarantees for the export and recycling of used rotary drilling rigs, facilitating the industry's transition toward a full industrial chain development model.

R1: "The Belt and Road" must be translated as the Belt and Road.  The demand side exhibits a structural upgrading trend, with diversified scenarios supporting industry growth. While demand in the traditional real estate sector has declined, emerging fields such as rail transit, bridges and tunnels, and wind power pile foundations have seen rapid growth, effectively offsetting the decline. Notably, offshore wind power and deep foundation treatment projects have driven a significant rise in demand for large-tonnage, high-performance rotary drilling rigs.  Regionally, projects in strategic national areas like East China, South China, and Southwest China are concentrated, forming core growth poles. Export markets have performed exceptionally well, with annual export volume growth exceeding 25% over recent years, primarily directed toward countries along the Belt and Road, becoming a new growth engine for the industry. Meanwhile, demand varies significantly across different application scenarios, with municipal engineering focusing on low-noise and low-emission solutions, while transportation infrastructure emphasizes efficiency and stability, driving product customization.

Technological iteration has become the core driver of industrial upgrading, with intelligence and green transformation emerging as mainstream directions. Currently, rotary drilling rig technology is transitioning from mechanical automation to electro-hydraulic intelligent control, digital twins, and remote collaboration. By integrating IoT, sensors, and intelligent control systems, it enables remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, and precision construction, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and safety. The localization rate of core components continues to rise, increasing from less than 40% in 2020 to over 65% in 2024, effectively reducing production costs and strengthening core competitiveness. The acceleration of green transformation is further advancing, with the market penetration of electric rotary drilling rigs gradually increasing. Coupled with a well-developed equipment recycling system under the circular economy model, it aligns more closely with the "dual carbon" goals, emerging as a new highlight in industry development.

Looking ahead, the rotary drilling rig industry will enter a new phase of high-quality development driven by three key forces. At the policy level, the emphasis on green and intelligent orientation will continue to strengthen, aligning industry standards with international benchmarks. On the demand side, the market will exhibit diversified and high-end characteristics, with the demand for large-tonnage, intelligent, and environmentally friendly products steadily increasing. Technologically, the industry will achieve deep integration of intelligence and greenization, with remote control and AI-assisted construction gradually becoming standard features, while the domestic substitution of core components will further advance. Meanwhile, industry concentration will continue to rise, as leading enterprises consolidate their advantages through technological R&D and global expansion. The export of second-hand equipment and the remanufacturing industry will also gradually become standardized, fostering a virtuous cycle of "R&D-production-application-recycling" and driving sustained value enhancement for the sector.
