Small cranes (<20 tons): flexible for scattered light-duty operations

Compact and easy to relocate, small cranes feature low traffic restrictions and suit confined workspaces. They are widely used for sporadic municipal renovation, lifting materials for self-built houses, low-rise curtain wall installation, relocation of small mechanical and electrical equipment, and pipe network supporting works. Characterized by low purchase and rental costs as well as simple maintenance, they fit short-term scattered jobs and frequent local light tasks. They enjoy a large market share in urban and rural infrastructure and decoration projects with stable returns. When selecting this model, site accessibility should be prioritized to make full use of its fast mobilization advantage under sufficient load margin.

Medium cranes (20–100 tons): mainstream workhorses for general engineering

Crane models ranging from 20 tons to 100 tons serve as the mainstream in the infrastructure sector, balancing lifting capacity, working radius and mobility with wide application coverage. They are the primary choice for steel structure assembly in workshops, hoisting for piling works, bridge and road auxiliary components, positioning of standard engineering equipment and mid-rise exterior construction. These cranes are highly adaptable for small and medium-sized infrastructure and factory projects along the Belt and Road, with sufficient spare parts and mature after-sales support networks. Selection shall be based on comprehensive calculation of load against lifting radius and lifting height instead of only the net weight of cargo, so as to balance construction efficiency and equipment investment.

Large cranes (>100 tons): for heavy-duty special hoisting projects

Cranes over 100 tons undertake heavy-load, long-radius and high-difficulty special hoisting tasks, including installation of large steel structures, wind power components, bridge segments, large piling machines and complete industrial equipment. Such models impose strict requirements on ground foundation, access roads and special hoisting plans. They are core equipment for large industrial parks, energy projects and key river-crossing and sea-crossing projects overseas. Given high mobilization costs, they are suitable for concentrated hoisting and long-term key projects. Site survey, foundation checking and special safety plans must be completed in advance to guarantee stable heavy-load operation.

Core principles for comprehensive selection: balancing safety, cost and project schedule

Tonnage is only the foundation of selection. Purchase or rental decisions also require comprehensive assessment of lifting radius, lifting height, ground bearing capacity, relocation distance and construction schedule. Over-sized cranes will push up rental and transport costs, while under-sized ones bring safety risks. For domestic and overseas piling, bridge and factory projects, we can provide tailored solutions according to drawings and site conditions. Proper crane allocation ensures compliant and safe hoisting while helping clients control machinery costs and support long-term construction planning.
