Proper rust and moisture prevention measures are key to maintaining equipment integrity and value retention. The following maintenance strategies are concise and practical, suitable for long-term idle scenarios, and balance operational convenience and protective effectiveness.


    Rust prevention is the core and needs to cover key parts of the entire machine. Firstly, clean the surface of the machine body to remove impurities such as soil and oil stains. After wiping dry, apply rust inhibitor evenly and focus on protecting the metal components, bolt connections, and exposed hydraulic pipelines of the machine body. For core operating components such as drill rods and drill bits, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the attached mud and rock debris, dry them, apply special anti rust grease, and then wrap and seal them with waterproof cloth to avoid direct contact with air and moisture; Before leaving idle, check the paint surface of the equipment and repair any damaged or peeled areas to block the source of rust.


    Moisture proofing treatment should take into account both the environment and the interior of the equipment to avoid damage to components caused by moisture. Park the drilling rig indoors or under a sunshade that is dry, ventilated, and sheltered from rain, away from areas with accumulated water and humidity. A moisture-proof pad can be laid on the ground to isolate moisture. Check the electrical system, turn off the main power, remove the battery and store it properly, regularly charge and maintain it to prevent the battery from getting damp, losing power, or bulging; For the hydraulic system, check the sealing condition of the oil tank, replenish qualified hydraulic oil to the specified scale, replace the hydraulic oil filter element if necessary to prevent the oil from getting damp and deteriorating. At the same time, start the equipment to run without load for a few minutes, let the hydraulic oil circulate, and discharge the residual moisture in the system.


    Performance preservation requires regular inspection and basic maintenance to avoid component aging caused by long-term idle. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the equipment once a week to check if rust and moisture prevention measures are in place, and if there are any signs of rust or moisture; Start the equipment every month and run it without load for 10-15 minutes. Check the operation status of the engine, hydraulic system, and electrical system, and promptly detect and handle any abnormalities. In addition, properly store equipment accessories such as filter cartridges, sealing rings, etc., to avoid moisture and aging of the accessories, ensure that they can be replaced normally during subsequent use, maintain the original performance of the equipment to the greatest extent possible, and reduce idle wear and tear.
