These products, with the advantages of low emissions, low noise, and low cost, are rapidly popularized in scenarios with strict environmental protection requirements such as urban rail transit and medical industrial parks.


        The in-depth application of intelligent technologies has injected new momentum into the efficient development of the rotary drilling rig industry. From single-machine intelligent control to cloud-based collaborative management, technological innovation is reshaping construction logic. In 2024, the sales volume of intelligent rotary drilling rigs equipped with remote monitoring, automatic deviation correction, and energy consumption optimization functions increased by 23% year-on-year, accounting for 41% of the total sales volume. Mainstream models are generally equipped with advanced intelligent systems: Sany SR275E comes standard with L2-level intelligent functions, enabling fully electric and precise operations for key components such as the main winch and power head; XCMG XR550HD-II is equipped with a fully electronic control hydraulic system and a cloud-based operation and maintenance platform, shortening the fault warning response time to within 15 minutes; Sany SR415R, through its AI geological identification system, can complete precise hole forming exceeding 100 meters in hard rock formations and has been applied in batches in major projects such as the Sichuan-Tibet Railway. These technological breakthroughs have not only increased construction efficiency by more than 30% but also achieved energy efficiency balance through functions such as load adaptive control and potential energy recovery, making "precision construction and intelligent management and control" a reality.


        The deep integration of green and intelligent technologies has also promoted the optimization of the industry's competitive landscape and the expansion of market boundaries. Currently, the three leading enterprises - Sany Heavy Industry, XCMG Group, and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology - collectively hold more than 95% of the domestic market share. Their core competitiveness has shifted from simple equipment manufacturing to providing comprehensive solutions integrating "green technology + intelligent services". In the domestic market, infrastructure-intensive regions such as East China and North China have become the main battlegrounds for technology implementation. In 2024, East China contributed 42% of the national equipment sales, and electric and intelligent models were prioritized in rail transit and urban renewal projects in these regions. In overseas markets, domestic intelligent and green models are accelerating their global expansion relying on cost-performance advantages. In 2024, the total export volume of Chinese rotary drilling rigs reached 860 units, a year-on-year increase of 19.4%, and Sany Heavy Industry's market share in countries such as India and Turkey has exceeded 25%.


        Looking ahead, with the continued increase in investment in new infrastructure, the process of greening and intelligentization in the rotary drilling rig industry will further accelerate. It is estimated that by 2025, the penetration rate of electric rotary drilling rigs will rise to 19.5%, and the proportion of intelligent models will continue to expand. The industry will steadily move towards the goal of 'zero-carbon construction and smart construction'. In this process, breaking through bottlenecks with green technology and enhancing value through intelligent innovation will be key for enterprises to maintain competitiveness, and it will also provide solid support for the high-quality development of infrastructure construction.
