As an engineering equipment exported overseas, rotary drilling rigs must pass the compliance certification of the target market. CE, ISO, and SONCAP are the most representative three types of certification, which directly determine customs clearance efficiency, market access, and brand competitiveness.
CE Certification
CE is a mandatory certification for rotary drilling rigs entering the EU market, focusing on indicators such as mechanical safety, electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, noise and emissions, and is a market entry threshold.
When handling, complete the risk assessment first, prepare drawings, instructions, component compliance certificates, and test reports. High risk models require participation in type inspection by EU notified bodies, and after passing, sign a declaration of conformity and affix the CE mark before they can freely circulate within the EU.
Holding CE certification allows legal entry into the European Union and markets that recognize EU standards, reducing the risk of customs detention and market penalties, and enhancing the trust of overseas customers.
ISO system certification
ISO certification is mainly based on the ISO9001 quality management system, which is a globally recognized proof of management capability. It is not targeted at individual products, but towards the full process management of enterprises.
The process involves establishing system documents, internal operations, internal audits, and management reviews. Third party organizations then complete document and on-site audits, and after rectification is passed, certificates are issued with a validity period of three years.
This certification is an important addition to international bidding and overseas agent cooperation, unifying production and quality control standards, stabilizing product consistency, reducing after-sales risks, and enhancing the international management level and brand image of the enterprise.
SONCAP certification
SONCAP is a mandatory conformity assessment program for exports to Nigeria. Without certification, customs clearance may not be possible and may result in seizure, return, or fines.
Certification is divided into two steps: PC product certificate and SC batch customs clearance certificate. First, apply for PC certificate based on third-party testing report. Before shipment, submit commercial documents and PC certificate to apply for SC certificate for customs clearance at the destination port.
This certification ensures that the product complies with Nigerian national standards and is a necessary document for rotary drilling rigs to enter the Nigerian and some West African markets, ensuring smooth customs clearance of goods and maintaining stable export trade links.
The three types of certification have different positioning and complement each other: CE solves the EU market access, ISO enhances management and business competitiveness, and SONCAP ensures customs clearance and passage in Nigeria. Enterprises can handle according to the target market combination, based on compliance, quickly open up international markets, reduce trade risks, and enhance the overseas competitiveness of rotary drilling rigs.
