The oil tank, as the storage container for the hydraulic oil of the rotary drilling rig, its cleanliness directly affects the operational stability of the hydraulic system. If impurities and sludge remain in the oil tank, it will cause hydraulic oil contamination, which in turn leads to component wear and system failure. Mastering scientific cleaning techniques is the key to ensuring equipment performance. Specifically, it can be carried out from the following six points.
1. Drain the old oil and disassemble the accessories: Before cleaning, the old hydraulic oil in the oil tank must be completely drained to prevent the remaining oil from mixing with the cleaning solution and affecting the effect. At the same time, remove the filter screen, liquid level gauge and other accessories on the fuel tank, clean them separately and store them properly to prevent damage or loss of the accessories during the cleaning process.
2. Select a dedicated cleaning solvent: A cleaning solvent specifically designed for the hydraulic system that is compatible with the material of the oil tank and non-corrosive should be chosen. Avoid using reagents such as gasoline and diesel that can easily damage the inner walls of the oil tank. When cleaning, thoroughly soak the interior of the fuel tank in a solvent to dissolve the accumulated sludge and impurities over a long period of time, thereby enhancing the cleaning efficiency.
3. Segmented flushing to remove dead corners: For dead corners such as the edges and welds inside the fuel tank that are prone to dirt accumulation, high-pressure spray guns should be used for segmented flushing. When flushing, control the pressure of the spray gun to avoid damaging the inner coating of the fuel tank due to excessive pressure. Ensure that each area is covered by the cleaning solution and all residual impurities are thoroughly removed.
4. Wipe dry to prevent rust: After rinsing, use a clean lint-free cotton cloth or a special wiping cloth to dry the interior of the fuel tank to avoid water residue. If the oil tank is large in volume, compressed air can be used to dry the interior to prevent water from coming into contact with the metal and causing rust, which may affect the quality of the subsequent hydraulic oil.
5. Inspect and repair potential hazards of the fuel tank: During the cleaning process, it is necessary to simultaneously check whether there are any scratches, deformations or leakage at the welding points on the inner wall of the fuel tank. Minor scratches found can be ground. If there is leakage, it should be repaired by welding in time to avoid hydraulic oil leakage due to defects in the oil tank itself after cleaning.
6. Filter new oil before assembly: Before reassembling the oil tank accessories, the new hydraulic oil needs to be filtered to remove any possible tiny impurities in the oil. After assembly is completed, add new oil slowly to avoid oil splashing and generating bubbles, and ensure that the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil in the oil tank meets the operational requirements of the equipment.
In conclusion, when cleaning the oil tank of a rotary drilling rig, the principle of "thorough cleaning, protecting components, and identifying potential hazards" should be followed. Every step from draining the old oil to adding new oil must be operated in a standardized manner. Only by ensuring the cleanliness of the oil tank can the risk of hydraulic system failure be reduced, the service life of the equipment be prolonged, and a guarantee be provided for the stable operation of the rotary drilling rig.
