The cooling system of a second-hand rotary drilling rig is the key to ensuring the stable operation of the equipment. If impurities accumulate in the water tank and radiator, it can easily lead to a decrease in heat dissipation efficiency, engine overheating, and subsequently cause malfunctions. Mastering scientific cleaning methods and regularly maintaining the cooling system can effectively extend the service life of the equipment and reduce maintenance costs.

1. Preparations before cleaning: Before cleaning, the engine must be turned off first. Wait for the body temperature to drop to room temperature to avoid scalding the high-temperature components. At the same time, disconnect the power supply of the cooling system and drain the coolant in the water tank to lay a solid foundation for subsequent cleaning.
2. External cleaning of the water tank: Use a high-pressure water gun (with pressure controlled at 0.3-0.5MPa) to rinse from the front of the water tank along the gaps of the heat dissipation fins to remove surface dust, willow catkins and other impurities. If there is stubborn dirt in the crevices, you can use a soft-bristled brush to gently brush it to avoid damaging the heat sink.
3. Cleaning the interior of the radiator: Add a special scale cleaner (diluted according to the instructions) to the radiator, let it soak for 2 to 4 hours, then start the engine and let it idle for 30 minutes to allow the cleaner to circulate fully. Then, drain the cleaning agent and rinse the inside of the water tank repeatedly with clean water until the discharged water is clear.
4. External cleaning of the radiator: First, remove the external protective cover of the radiator. Then, use compressed air (with a pressure not exceeding 0.2MPa) to blow out the dust in the gaps of the radiator core from the inside out. If there is oil stain, you can spray neutral detergent, wipe it with a damp cloth and then dry it with compressed air.
5. Inspection and cleaning of the radiator interior: Check for any signs of corrosion or leakage inside the radiator. If slight corrosion is found, add anti-rust protective agent. If the internal blockage is severe, the radiator needs to be removed and a special pipe unclogging tool should be used to clear the pipes to ensure smooth flow of the coolant.
6. Inspection and reset after cleaning: After cleaning is completed, refill the coolant that meets the specifications and check whether all interfaces of the cooling system are well sealed. Start the engine and let it idle for 10 to 15 minutes. Observe whether the coolant temperature is normal. After confirming that there is no leakage and the heat dissipation is normal, install the protective cover.
In conclusion, the maintenance of the cooling system of second-hand rotary drilling RIGS should focus on "regular cleaning + detailed inspection". It is recommended to clean the water tank and radiator every 500 hours of operation. If the construction environment is dusty and high-temperature, the cleaning cycle should be appropriately shortened. Standardized cleaning and maintenance can ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the cooling system and safeguard the stable operation of the equipment.
