The low-temperature environment in winter has a significant impact on the performance and lifespan of second-hand rotary drilling RIGS. If not properly maintained, problems such as difficult startup and component freezing damage may occur. Proper anti-freezing and start-up protection not only reduce equipment failures but also extend its service life. The following are six core maintenance points.
1.Coolant inspection and replacement: Timely test the freezing point of the coolant to ensure it is 5-10℃ lower than the local minimum temperature. If it does not meet the standard, replace it with dedicated antifreeze. At the same time, check for any leakage in the cooling system to prevent the water tank or the body from cracking due to insufficient coolant.
2. Fuel selection and purification: Use -10 # or -20 # low pour point diesel to prevent fuel solidification at low temperatures. Regularly drain the accumulated water and impurities at the bottom of the fuel tank to prevent water from freezing and blocking the fuel lines, which may affect engine starting.
3. Lubrication system maintenance: Replace with winter-specific engine oil, which has better low-temperature fluidity and can quickly lubricate engine components. Inspect all lubrication points (such as drill pipes and slewing bearings), replenish low-temperature lubricating grease, and reduce mechanical wear.
4. Battery insulation and charging: Install insulation covers on the batteries to prevent capacity reduction caused by low temperatures. After the machine stops, charge it in time to keep the battery fully charged. Before starting, you can preheat the battery to increase the starting voltage.
5. Preheating operation before starting: Before starting, turn on the engine preheating device (such as the preheating plug or preheater), and preheat for 3 to 5 minutes. Wait until the water temperature rises above 10℃ before starting. Frequent starts are prohibited. If the first attempt fails, wait for 2 to 3 minutes before trying again to avoid damaging the starter.
6. Post-shutdown protection: When the engine is shut down for a long time, the coolant in the radiator and engine block should be drained completely (if antifreeze is not used), or an adequate amount of antifreeze should be added. Park the drilling rig in a sheltered and dry place, cover it with a dust-proof and heat-insulating cover, and protect the exposed parts from frost damage.
In conclusion, the winter maintenance of second-hand rotary drilling RIGS should focus on two core aspects: "anti-freezing" and "start-up protection". Through scientific inspection, reasonable oil change, and standardized operation, the risk of low-temperature faults can be effectively avoided. Only by doing a good job in daily maintenance can we ensure that the equipment maintains stable performance during winter construction, reduce maintenance costs and guarantee construction efficiency.
