Second-hand rotary drilling RIGS, due to their long usage time, have a higher probability of component aging or wear. During construction, they are prone to problems such as stuck drill and insufficient power. If not dealt with promptly, it may lead to equipment damage or project delays. The following shares the emergency handling methods for common faults of second-hand rotary drilling RIGS from six key aspects:

2

1.Emergency handling for stuck drill fault: First, stop drilling and try to rotate the drill pipe in the opposite direction. At the same time, slowly lift the drill tool to use torque to loosen the stuck part. If it is still impossible to get out of the predicament, mud or clean water can be injected into the borehole to reduce the friction between the drill pipe and the soil layer and prevent the drill pipe from breaking due to forced lifting.

2. Sudden shutdown of the power system: Immediately turn off the power supply of the drilling rig, check the fuel level in the fuel tank and the fuel filter element. If the shutdown is caused by lack of fuel or clogged filter element, replenish fuel or replace the filter element and then restart. If the engine keeps stalling, it is necessary to check the spark plugs or fuel injectors of the engine. If necessary, contact maintenance personnel for inspection and repair.

3. Insufficient pressure in the hydraulic system: First, check the level and quality of the hydraulic oil. If the oil level is too low, replenish it in time. If the oil quality deteriorates, replace it with new oil. Then check whether the hydraulic pipeline is leaking. If the sealing parts are damaged, they should be replaced immediately to ensure the stability of the system pressure.

4. The drill pipe cannot extend or retract normally: After stopping the operation, check the drill pipe extension cylinder to see if there is any oil leakage or deformation of the piston rod. If the oil cylinder malfunctions, it is necessary to release the pressure, disassemble and inspect it, and replace the damaged sealing ring or piston rod. If the drill pipe is stuck, you can inject lubricating oil and then slowly try to extend and contract it.

5. Sudden drop in drill bit speed: First, check the transmission system to see if the belt is loose or broken. Adjust the belt tension in time or replace it with a new one. If the transmission gears are worn, the machine should be stopped for disassembly and the worn gears replaced to prevent abnormal rotational speed due to insufficient power transmission.

6. Equipment walking failure: After stopping the movement, check the walking motor and tracks. If the motor is leaking oil, replace the sealing parts and replenish the hydraulic oil. If the tracks get stuck, clear the soil, stones and other debris inside the tracks, check whether the bolts of the track plates are loose, and tighten or replace the damaged parts in time.

In conclusion, the emergency handling of faults in second-hand rotary drilling RIGS should follow the principle of "judgment first, then operation", take precise measures for different types of faults, and at the same time, strengthen equipment maintenance on a daily basis to reduce the probability of faults occurring. Only by combining standardized emergency response with regular maintenance can the continuous and stable operation of the drilling rig be guaranteed and the smooth progress of construction be ensured.
